1.48 – Here, Wisdom Is Truth-Bearing

ṛtaṃbharā tatra prajñā

Translation

In this state, wisdom is truth-bearing-it conveys what is.

Meaning

In ordinary thinking, your thoughts are colored by desire, fear, conditioning. They do not reflect reality clearly. But in the seedless state, the mind is so purified that its knowing matches reality exactly. What arises is truth itself-unmediated, direct, perfect.

This is the promise of yoga: not a better opinion, but direct perception of what is. When this arrives, you know it. There is no doubt.

Commentary – Swami Tattwamayananda (Yoga Sutras of Patanjali)

Tattwamayananda teaches that this truth-bearing wisdom is not new information but the recognition of what was always so. The veil is simply removed, and you see what is fundamentally true.
